No, this has nothing to do with a character from Star Trek or the James Bond franchise, nor am I directing you to a music magazine out of the UK or the Christianized version of TED Talks. Rather, I want to point you in the direction of a poll being conducted by Anthony Le Donne and Chris Keith over at The Jesus Blog asking their readers whether or not they affirm the idea of Q, i.e., Quelle, a.k.a. the Q Source/Gospel. If you’d like to share your opinion go vote here.

(Most scholars of the Gospels conclude that Matthew and Luke use material from Mark, but there is material that is shared by Matthew and Luke that is not in Mark, so the idea was proposed that there must have been another earlier source from which Matthew and Luke retrieved this shared material, likely one containing nothing but Jesus’ sayings. There are those who have expressed serious doubts about the existence of this hypothetical document.)

Update: Mark Goodacre has written “Q or not Q? Is there any shift?”
